Workshops & Meetings
Over the years, COSMOS has organized and co-sponsored a number of workshops and invited meetings focused on practical issues in strong-motion monitoring. Past events have covered topics such as archiving and sharing geotechnical and strong-motion data, strong-motion instrumentation of buildings and other structures, guidelines for recording and processing strong-motion records, and diagnostics for monitoring the seismic response of bridges and dams.
These events typically bring together researchers, practitioners, and network operators to share current work and help shape emerging guidelines and standards. COSMOS is a non-profit organization whose goal is to expand and significantly modernize the acquisition and application of strong-motion data in order to increase public safety from earthquakes.
