COSMOS publications generally fall into a few broad categories. Guidelines documents are part of COSMOS’s effort to standardize how strong-motion data is collected, processed, archived, and shared, and represent a step toward broader community standards. Reports, papers, and presentations include material prepared in response to requests from government agencies as well as work presented at technical conferences. Newsletters share ongoing updates about COSMOS’s activities and progress toward its mission. And periodic fact sheets are published to highlight major updates, such as improvements to the Virtual Data Center, so that members and the community stay informed of important changes.
