Session Overview
This COSMOS Technical Session focused on the selection and scaling of ground-motion time histories for code-based design applications. The day-long program opened with a welcome and overview, followed by a review of current code and standard requirements and how they developed over time.
Later presentations examined how these procedures apply in practice, including worked examples for different site conditions, followed by recommendations for selecting and scaling records to meet code requirements. The afternoon included a panel discussion and open audience participation, giving attendees a chance to raise questions and share their own perspectives, before the session wrapped up with closing remarks.
The day concluded with an informal reception, giving attendees additional time to connect with colleagues from across the strong-motion and earthquake engineering community.
